2 X the Bday Celebrations

Back in July I had a very fun filled Saturday. In the afternoon I met up my Big Sister, Niece and her old teacher at a local movie theater to celebrate my Niece's birthday ^^

Jocelyn and her old teacher, Tiffany (she was a cool teacher)
Birthday Girl and My Big Sister, Besie
Not sure if you could tell but we went to see the movie Despicable Me 2 XD It was such a great movie! I highly recommend it, but you need to watch part 1 first; which is what I did the night before online >< lol

After the movie ended we walked around for a little bit and got some sugary goodness at a local bakery called Sweet. The sunny weather was nice but kinda hot with all the layers I had on.
Sisterly love + my beautiful Niece
She's wearing the tutu I made her the year before (for her birthday) *(^-^)*
And here's my full outfit. I ended up meeting some other MLP lovers in one of the shops we stopped in

Later we parted ways and I rushed home to get ready for the other birthday celebration I was attending that night. You can see more pictures and read about that part here, but here's one of the shots I took.

I love birthdays! It's a time you get to celebrate someone you care about for just being them <3

Well... That's it for now!!!

Dallas Graduation Celebration

On May 17th we all headed up to Dallas for the weekend to celebrate the graduation of my sister-in-law, Angela. We got there in the evening and while I was unable to attend the actual graduation ceremony (limited tickets were given to each graduate and immediate family got priority) we all did go to dinner afterwards at the restaurant she worked at which was awesome because the food seemed endless ^^

This was also the first time that I wore Lolita in front of my husband's family so I will admit that I was a little nervous at first but everyone really liked my outfit and asked questions and stuff, which made me very happy.

Me with my sister-in-law Angela
Dress: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Blouse / Socks: Bodyline
Shoes: Secret Shop
On Saturday our hosts took us to The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, which was just walking distance from their apartment
View from the escalator on the top floor
There was so much to see and do, but we were on limited time since we arrived later in the afternoon.
The more you know: Colors *^*
Many scientist believe the moon formed from the debris created when a Mars-size planetoid collided with Earth long ago.

Tethysaurus
Columbian Mammoth Skelton (Mammuthus Columbi - Collected in Dallas)
My outfit for the day
Dress: Asianicandy
Socks: Bodyline
Shoes: Secret Shop
Torosaurus Skull (Torosaurus Latus - Collected in South Dakota)
Pachyrhinosaurus Skeleton (Pachrhinosaurus Perotorm - Collected in Alaska

Toronado - it would break up when you put your hands through it
Earthquake simulator - They even had different magnitudes you could choose from
I just really loved this display and how bright it was
Heat sensing screen. Look at how hot I am. hehe
This machine was cool. You put your hand under the light and it shows your veins
On this one when you moved it projected all the movements you made on the screen
This one took a little more time to take effect but the blocks moved when you did also.
We missed out on a lot of the exhibits but we were shown the sports hall briefly. You can race against several athletes, a cheetah or even a t-rex, which was really interesting. I hope one day we are able to go again. If anyone is in Dallas I highly recommend checking this place out. There was so much to see and a lot of it was interactive which made it that much better ^^

Sunday was a day for us to relax but we did manage to go out to eat at Benihana so I dressed up for fun.

Old School Sweet <3
Dress: Bodyline
Headbow: Innocent World
The rest of the family left Sunday but my husband and I left Monday afternoon so we went out for brunch before heading out.

Kept it cool and casual since it was hot out - also not happy with my sock choice
Top: F21
Skirt: Anna House
We really had such a great time hanging out with Adrian's sister and her boyfriend. They really are such great people and we always have an awesome time together which is why I'm sad that they just moved to Chicago last week. Hopefully they can visit or we can visit them because I miss them lots!

It had been a while since I spent the weekend out of town but I knew I wanted to pack lots of Lolita clothes. What kind of clothing do you pack for a trip? I'd love to hear about it ^^

Until next time... - Angel

Japan Festival

April 13th and 14th was the Japan Festival in our city. I ended up attending on Saturday since the Houston Lolita Community was asked to put on a Kawaii Fashion Show and I wanted to support them.

There were so many people everywhere. This event has really grown so much from when it was first started in 1993 ^^

Lots of trees so you could easy find shade from the sun

They had lots of events going on but since I came late I didn't get a chance to see everything,
but I did catch part of the Cosplay contest
Epic Cosplay, and it was so hot out so he gets double props for wearing it for so long. He was also one of the winners
Some of the other winners (Tamaki was in character through the whole event which was awesome (swoon))
Cosplayers up on stage
Woodlands HS Japanese Club doing the Soran Dance
The dance moves depict ocean waves, fishermen dragging nets, pulling ropes and lifting luggage over their shoulders. During regular intervals of the dance, the words: "DOKKOISHO!" "DOKKOISHO!" "SORAN!" "SORAN!" Are called. Those words were used in the past to encourage the fisherman during their work.
Afterwards HLC put on the Kawaii Fashion Show. You can see my pictures here

Okinawan Drum Dance about to start

Everyone did an excellent performance and you can tell they took it serious but still enjoyed themselves.
We left not too longer after since it was hot and we got hungry again.

And this was my outfit for the day. My first attempt at Punk Lolita. I really liked it ^^
I hope to attend again next year, but maybe earlier so I can see more of it <3
